Wisłoujście Fortress ,Gdańsk, Poland

Wisłoujście Fortress is a unique monument of fortification art, strategically located to control the movement of ships entering and leaving the port of Gdańsk. The first written records of a guard post in this location date back to the 14th century, and in 1482, a cylindrical brick tower was built, serving both defensive purposes and as a lighthouse.

Today, the fortress has been enhanced with modern lighting that highlights its architectural features. The tower and courtyard are subtly illuminated, not only showcasing historical details but also creating a unique atmosphere after dark. The implemented solutions take environmental protection into account—light intensity is adjusted according to the season, ensuring the well-being of the bats hibernating there.
