In May 2024, the Interactive Fairy Tale and Animation Center OKO was opened in Bielsko-Biała. This modern center is part of the Animated Film Studio (SFR), which has been creating iconic Polish animations like Bolek and Lolek, Reksio, and Professor Baltazar Gąbka since 1947. The architectural project included the renovation of the historic Roth Villa and the construction of a new building with a minimalist facade reminiscent of film strips. The entire project took over four years and was carried out in two stages. The first stage involved revitalizing the Roth Villa, while the second focused on constructing the new building and landscaping the surrounding area. A distinctive feature of the new building is its “suspended” structure, which appears to float above the ground floor. The center is equipped with a modern cinema hall, exhibition spaces, and a digital archive. A transparent connector between the buildings provides views of the surroundings and blends tradition with modernity. The total area of the complex is 3,988 m².
