"The project by Nizio Design International, which in 2009 won the first prize in the competition announced by the Kielce Countryside Museum, was to create conditions for commemorating the victims of the pacification of the village of July 12, 1943. Michniów is a place that has become a symbol of all pacifications and repressions that hit the Polish countryside during World War II and the occupation. The aim of the creators was to combine the functional and utility program of architecture with the expressive sculptural form and symbolic meaning of the museum-memorial. In the international trade press the Mausoleum of Martyrdom of Polish Villages in Michniów has been called one of the most interesting architectural projects implemented in the world. The Michniowski Mausoleum project was honored with the European Property Awards in the Public Service Architecture category".
